Nuremberg in Our Hearts: An eTwinning Project that Unites

Today I would like to share with you how another of my subjects has been going: International Projects in Education.

At the beginning of the semester, we had the opportunity to meet some German students. The idea was to do a project on the eTwinning platform entitled: ‘The National within the International: Exploring What It Means to Be a Teacher in Europe’.

We worked with them for two weeks or so and then we had eight more weeks of online group work, through whatsapp, zoom calls, team conferences and etwinning messages, to work on our own and to elaborate the project, a lesson plan and a podcast, in my case on multiculturalism and multilingualism.

After receiving feedback from Frederik and Madeleine, we changed a few things and set off for Nuremberg, and now, here I am! We arrived in the German city on Sunday and will stay here until Thursday 12th.

During these days we have had the opportunity to attend a seminar called "eTwinning - the European educational space and platformization" given by Madeleine Flötotto, Latin and Ethics classes in German, different workshops, visit the city and many other things.

As we were collaborating with students from other countries, I was able to exchange ideas and methodologies about education in a multicultural context.

Of course, the highlight was the trip to Nuremberg. I had the opportunity to present our project in front of 30 education teachers. It was an enriching experience to share our reflections and listen to other educators' perspectives on how to deal with the challenges of multiculturalism in the classroom.

The interaction with other teachers not only broadened my understanding of the topic, but also provided me with new tools and approaches to apply in our own educational practices.

Through this project, I have not only deepened my understanding of the importance of cultural and linguistic diversity in Europe, but I have also been able to reflect on how these dimensions enrich my work as an educator.

I upload some pictures with my colleagues and what I have learnt. I hope that one day you´ll be able to do an eTwinning project like me, because it is really worth it!
