Bags, Bites, and Brainwaves: My EdTech Adventure
Good morning guys!
As I said, I'm working on my Edtech souvenir. I've been thinking about what I want to do, and after a long brainstorming, I have decided to create a personalised tag to hang on my suitcase so I never lose it.
It seems to me an original and not so common idea and I think it has enough elaboration in the design and in the Mind and Makerspace, to get a good grade.
That's why I'm uploading some of the photos of the process of creating the design in Inkscape, the video of how it's done on the laser cutter, and much more!
I would also like to take this opportunity to tell you what we did yesterday in class with Kris Hulsen, our other teacher of this subject.
I love the way he explains everything about the subject in both languages (English and Flemish), as he has students from both sides.
Yesterday he gave us a very interesting lesson. It was an inspiration lesson, about computational thinking. We did a very cool activity about ‘the steps to make a sandwich’.
In it, we had to write down the steps we thought we should take to make a sandwich at home. He gave us some instructions, and we got down to work. Afterwards, he showed us a very funny video of some children with their father, where the little ones had written on a piece of paper the steps for the elaboration, and the father, following these steps, had to prepare the sandwich.
At the end, the children had to repeat the process about four times each, because they forgot to put instructions such as ‘open the lid of the jam’.
With this, we realised how specific we have to be with the students, when they are learning something, or even when they have already learned it.
Then we went down to the ground floor of the university, where he showed us various games to play with the students. I have attached a photo of everything I have just told you so that you can imagine it well. The truth is that the session was very interesting.
Once again it has been a pleasure to accompany you in this beautiful morning.
I hope you like today's content, see you!
